Sarah Ruth Corley passed from this life to join her Lord and Savior on January 3, 2023.
Service: 10:00 am, Friday, January 6, 2023 in Biggers Funeral Chapel
Interment: Azleland Memorial Park
Sarah was born to Henry and Abbie Meadows in Paradise, Texas on December 29, 1928. She graduated from Paradise High School then married Walter B. Corley in 1945.
Sarah retired from Tarrant County working in the District Clerk’s Office where she worked her way up from the record room to becoming Assistant Chief Deputy. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and friend. She enjoyed working in her church, gardening, playing dominoes and fishing. Sarah loved going to ball games to watch and cheer for any of her grandkids. Sarah was well known for expertise in cooking and was always ready to prepare a delicious meal for family or friends. Her kitchen was always open, and she was ready to serve anyone that came in hungry. She was a member of Eagle Mountain Baptist Church where she served on numerous committees and worked to keep the flower beds beautiful. She loved helping others and was the first to show up if anyone needed her help.
Sarah was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Walter B.; her daughter, Charlotte Harris; and numerous brother and sisters. (She came from a family of eleven and she was the baby).
She is survived by her daughter, Glenda Irby and husband, Jimmy; her son-in-law, David Harris; grandsons, Steve Harris and wife Shauna, Glen Irby and wife, Becky, Bryan Harris and wife, Kim, Jeff Irby and wife, Sara; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
