Sandra Mills, 83, of Mansfield, Ohio passed away on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at Buckeye Care and Rehab Assisted Living. She was born in Mansfield on July 24, 1938 to the late John Thieding and Catherine (Yavarich) Thieding Lewis.
Sandra retired as a plant manager at Mapco Industries. She was a loving mom, grandmother, and great-grandmother and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Sandra was full of life and loved spending her summers at her lake house in Lake Erie, especially visiting Zeller’s Beach. She liked jet skiing and boating and many called her the Silver Streak. Sandra was an avid fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes. She was a member of Sons of Herman and an active member of the Mansfield Eagles and enjoyed volunteering with all of their events.
Sandra is survived by her daughters, Debbie Nisley and Tammy (Pat) O’Boyle; brother, Brent Lewis; sisters, Donna Potts Brinegar, Cherie (Paul) Fitzpatrick, Carla (Larry) Stamper and Cindy (Allen) Zatik; five beautiful grandchildren, Candice (David) Rabinowitz, Thomasean (Mark) Labus, Jay Bertoch, Patrick O’Boyle and Dustin Kingsbury; two beautiful great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Tom Mills; daughter, Selena Mills Kingsbury; and sisters, Casey Burns and Jackie Ayres.
The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff at Buckeye Care and Rehab and Fairhope Hospice both in Lancaster, Ohio for the love and care shown to Sandra.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. on Friday, August 13, 2021 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 South Diamond St., Mansfield, OH 44902. A graveside service will be held at 12:30 p.m. at Lantz Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association to help find a cure for this terrible disease.
