Sandra Lee Ahomana, 71, of Cedar Rapids, died Thursday, March 28, 2024, in Living Center West. A Celebration of Life will held on Friday, April 5, 2024, at Cedar Memorial Family Center & Library from 4- 6 p.m. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Sandra was born February 13, 1953, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Robert and Norma (Vick) Mathews. Sandra was a daycare provider. She enjoyed family gatherings and watching the Iowa Hawkeye football and basketball. She enjoyed the many children she cared for and the many trips with them to the Dairy Queen and splash pad. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Survivors include her daughter, Carrie (Randy) Gibson of Cedar Rapids, her special friend, Anthony Whitlatch of Cedar Rapids, her sister, Carol Lacy of Cedar Rapids, her brother, Bob Gehrke of Iowa Falls, her grandchildren, Michael Gibson, Jason (Madie) Gibson, Taylor (Bonnie) Gibson, her great-grandchildren, Lucy Gibson, Winnie Gibson, Jane Gibson and a niece and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Barb Ross and Karen Waddell, a great-grandson, Otto Gibson, brother-in-law, Don Lacy and a nephew Travis Ross.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society in memory of Sandra.
