Samuel Ray Worley

Samuel Ray Worley, Papa, of Zirconia gained his wings Thursday, December 16th, 2021 in his home. He was the youngest child of Walter and Cordelia Pitman Worley. He was born in Henderson County and retired from the N.C. State Prisons System.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Barbara Maney Worley(Juanita); three daughters, Rhonda Cantrell and husband Henry, Kim Worley, and Natalie Andrade all of Zirconia. Eight grandchildren: Michelle Graham, Carrie Dills(Randy), Joshua Worley, Joy Worley, James Mejia, Michael Worley(Wendy), Amber Prince, and            Kyle Worley. 12 great-grandchildren: Morgan and Kaitlyn Osteen; Devon, Audrey, and Cameron Mumaugh; Aiden and Isabella Mejia , Helen and Lacey Worley,     Tyler Prince, and Zach and Zane Worley. And 1 great-great-grandchild Maddox Greene.  He is also survived by one brother Walter Worley, Jr. of Hendersonville. He was preceded in death by son Wade Worley and daughter Laura Worley.
He will be remembered as a very loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and great grandfather. Our Papa was the BEST for every one of us. We all feel very blessed to have had him as long as we did. He will be so very missed.
A graveside service will be held at 2 o’clock on Tuesday, December 21st at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with the Rev. Steve Gibbs and Rev. James Maybin officiating. A family visitation will be held after the service at Tracy Grove Baptist Church.
