Ruth Louise Orewiler

Ruth Louise (Jensen) Orewiler, 86, of Mansfield, walked through the gates of Heaven to meet her late husband Elwood and the others that have gone before her on Thursday, January 20, 2022 at her home. Born February 8, 1935 in Enid, Oklahoma, she was the daughter of Reverands Alfred and Hildegard (Dehmel) Jensen.

Ruth was a 1952 graduate of Mansfield Senior High School and a 1978 graduate of The Ohio State University receiving a Bachelor Degree in Education. She was a member of Mansfield First Assembly of God (M1) where she was a Sunday School Teacher since the age of 12. Ruth was a member of the Camera Club, the Richland County Grief Support, an election worker, and a leader of 4-H Troops. She was a beach lover and was always interested in children’s education. Ruth enjoyed photography, scrapbooking, geneology, gardening and crafts but most of all, she enjoyed talking and laughing with her family and friends.

She is survived by her children, Brad (Janice) Orewiler of Mansfield, Bruce (Vicki) Orewiler of Ashland, Melodie (Brian) Dobben of Raleigh, NC and Byron (Melanie) Orewiler Pocahontas, AR; grandchildren, Shawn (Amanda) Orewiler of Chesapeake, VA, Michelle (Brian) Schlitz of Mansfield, Olivia Dobben of Lakeland, FL, Stephanie (Chris) Bailey of Butler, OH, Ashlyn Orewiler of Pocahontas, AR, Haston Orewiler, stationed with the US Air Force, Eliya Dobben of Raleigh, NC, Austin Dobben of Raleigh, NC, Kristen (Aaron) McCrady of Wright City, MO; great grandchildren, Elijah, Catherine, Hannah, Mason, Weston and Cadence Orewiler all of Chesapeake, VA, Mary and Julia Bailey of Butler, OH, Kaitlyn Orewiler of Ashland, OH, Marissa Kimble of Wright City, MO and Adeline Orewiler; great great grandchildren, Rosemary and Liam Orewiler; her brother, Rev. Daniel (Evelyn) Jensen of Pt. Blank, TX; her brother-in-law, Frank Giauque of Killbuck, OH; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elwood Orewiler; two great great grandsons, Gabriel and Landen Bailey; and a sister, Delores Giauque.

Friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 South Lexington-Springmill Road, Ontario. Celebration of Life services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 27, 2022 at Mansfield First Assembly of God (M1) conducted by Pastor Mark Lehman and her brother, Rev. Daniel Jensen. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.
