We celebrate the life of Rosemary “Babe”, who passed away on Monday, January 25th, 2021 at the age of 93. She came to a peaceful end at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born July 2, 1927 in Chicago, IL, she was the daughter of the late Frances, nee Scimeca, and Joseph Vazzano. On June 5, 1948 she married her high school sweetheart Frank D. Hokl, who preceded her in death on April 22, 1992. Rosemary attended local Chicago schools and graduated from Waller High School (Lincoln Park High). She was actively involved in service organizations at St. Hilary grade school where her children Nadine, Jeffrey and Denise attended. After being a stay at home mom for 20 years, she began a career in real estate. Her favorite pastime was watching the Chicago Cubs on WGN, along with her grandchildren’s high school football, basketball, tennis and volleyball games. Rosemary is survived by her two daughters Denise of Glenview, IL, Nadine (Robert) Emerick of Northbrook, IL; her son Jeffrey (Patricia) Hokl of Morton Grove, IL; six grandchildren, Courtney (Nick) Veit of Park Ridge, IL, Kelly Emerick of Texas, Sean Emerick of Chicago, IL, Jeffrey (Michelle) Hokl of New Palestine, IN, Caroline Hokl of Chicago, IL, and Kathleen Hokl of Morton Grove, IL; five great-grandchildren Nicholas, Mallory, Camden, Charlotte, and Roland, along with many cousins and friends. The family would like to thank her personal care givers for the loving care and support given to Rosemary and her family. Funeral services will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sr Paulanne’s Needy Family Fund, Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Parish Ministry Center, 1775 Grove Street, Glenview, Illinois 60025.
