Longtime Johnson County Democrat Ron Henderson passed away on May 17. A highlight of Ron’s career as a social worker and director of youth homes was his successful endeavor to settle a number of refugee Vietnamese youth. Iowa City locals from the 1980s may recall enjoying Nghia Le’s authentic cuisine at Saigon Restaurant on Linn Street. A private family service will take place in Des Moines at a later date.
