Robert Craig Briner

Robert Craig Briner, Age 84 of Asheville, North Carolina passed away on Saturday, August 6, 2022 at Advent Hospital, Hendersonville, North Carolina.

Dr. Briner was born March 27, 1938 in Clark County, Indiana and was a resident of Asheville, North Carolina for many years. He was the son of the late George Robert Briner and Margaret Louise Himebaugh. He earned his Doctorate in Organic Chemistry from Florida State University. He went on to a long career in Forensic Science as the Crime Lab Director for the State of Missouri in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. After retirement, he and his wife relocated to Asheville, North Carolina and became active members of Hendersonville Presbyterian Church in Hendersonville, North Carolina.

Dr. Briner is survived by his wife of 62 years, Janet Briner as well as his sons, Joseph Briner (Tanya) of Charlotte, NC; Les Briner (Amy) of Peculiar, Missouri; Grandchildren Kevin Briner (Kaitlyn), Madison Briner, Kelly David (Samson) and Robert Briner.

A funeral service will be held at Hendersonville Presbyterian Church in Hendersonville, North Carolina at 11:00 am on Thursday, August 11, 2022 located at 699 N. Grove St, Hendersonville, North Carolina. Interment will be held at a date yet to be determined at Sellersburg Cemetery in Sellersburg, Indiana.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hendersonville Presbyterian Church or a charity of your choice.
