Robert “Bob” A. Lowry

Robert “Bob” A. Lowry, 93, of Etowah, North Carolina, passed away September 28, 2021, at Pardee Hospital. He was predeceased by his parents, a brother Richard A. Lowry (2000) and his beloved wife, Nancy D. Lowry (2001).

A native of New York, Bob had graduated from Stuyvesant High School and received some college education. He was an United States Army Veteran. Bob was a member of Etowah United Methodist Church. Since 1953, Bob was a member of the Free and Accepted Masons of NY at the George Washington Lodge #285. In September 1954, Bob and Nancy were married.

Left to cherish Bob’s memory are his children, Linda (James) Scott of Shellville, Gerorgia, Carol Dacula also of Georgia and son Douglas (Lisa) of Zionsville, Pennsylvania; nine grandchildren, Lauren (Ryan) Van Horn, Cheryl Scott, Susan (Joshua) Williams, Stephanie Scott, Kelly (Bennett) Lasseter, Matthew (Lydia) Scott, Alyssa Lowry, Joseph Lowry and Alex Lowry; and six great-grandchildren, Kyla Van Horn, Amelia Van Horn, Emerson Williams, Evan Williams, Makynzie Lowry and Eoin Scott. Bob also leaves behind a special friend and loving companion Garlyn O’Leary.

In lieu of flowers the family kindly suggests memorial donations in Bob’s name can be made to Etowah Horse Shoe Fire and Rescue, Etowah Valley Humane Society or a worthy cause of your choosing.
