Richard T. Johnson, age 77, of Yorkville, IL passed away on Saturday, September 11, 2021. He was born on February 19, 1944 in Aurora, IL the son of Tillman and Gertrude (Saum) Johnson.
Richard was united in marriage on February 27, 1965 to the former Judy Kay Roetzer and they spent the next 56 years happily together. He was employed for 25 years by United Parcel Service. Richard was a member of Aurora Turners Club in Aurora, IL and the Yorkville Moose Lodge 2371 in Yorkville, IL. He was an active softball coach both at IMSA and The Dial Stars traveling team for many years. Richard was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle who will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Johnson of Yorkville, IL; his daughters, Tammy (Robyn) Johnson of Plainfield, IL and Tonya (Michael) Denyko of Montgomery, IL; his grandchildren, Austin, Jarod, Owen, and Alexiss Johnson and Alania Denyko; his brother-in-law, Donald Bryant of Aurora, IL; his niece, Diana (Roger) Channing; and his nephew, Michael Bryant.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Tillman and Gertrude Johnson; and his sister, Marlene Bryant.
Funeral Services and interment in Lincoln Memorial Park in Aurora, IL will be private.
Friends may visit from 1:00 until 4:00 PM on Sunday, September 19, 2021 at the Nelson Funeral Home, 1617 N. Bridge St., Yorkville, IL.
