Richard S. Cooper, 67, was born May 23, 1955 in Elkhorn, Wisconsin to Donald R. and Betty L. (Deck) Cooper. He passed away on Thursday, April 27, 2023 at Aurora Lakeland Medical Center in Elkhorn.
Rick grew up in Delavan, Wisconsin and graduated from Delavan-Darien High School in 1973. He was a machinist by trade and worked for 41 years at Sta-Rite Industries/Pentair Water in Delavan. He retired in June, 2018. Rick spent many years as a volunteer fireman for the City of Delavan and then the Village of Fontana. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, bowling and camping. He enjoyed watching sports, particularly the Packers and Brewers. He especially enjoyed watching his grandson, Kasen, play youth baseball, football and basketball. Kasen was his “little buddy” and he cherished the time they spent together.
Rick is survived by his wife Kathy, whom he married on August 4, 1984 in Fontana, daughter Lauren Cooper; grandson Kasen Todd; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Donald and Betty Cooper, daughter Kaitlin, son Kyle, sister and brother-in-law Donna and Paul Simmons and parents-in-law Henry and Joan Van Diggelen.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at Toynton’s Walworth Funeral Home, 328 Kenosha St., Walworth from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 12:00 noon. Burial will be private.
