Rhonda Faye Johnson

Rhonda Faye Johnson

Rhonda Faye Johnson of Mansfield, went to be with Jesus on Monday, October 18, 2021, in Mansfield, at the age of 67.

She was born March 4, 1954, in Kenton, Ohio, to the late Darlinia Faye (Craig) and Duane Allen Johnson. Rhonda was proud of her American Indian heritage and enjoyed researching genealogy. Family gatherings were her favorite events and she enjoyed their many cookouts. A people person, she was completely at home making new friends and striking up a conversation with anyone. She and her daughter, Jolene, went to garage sales every Thursday, and Jolene was her favorite TV watching companion. A memorable trip to Nashville, Tennessee, with her parents was a highlight. One of the lights of her life was her great-nephew, Scott.

Rhonda had many joys in life and a few were traveling, country music, flowers, playing cards, animals, and watching NASCAR, following her favorite driver, Jimmie Johnson. She was an excellent cook and baker. She had many occupations over the years including working at M & S Marathon, Hi Stat, babysitting, and even trained as an EMT. She collected angels and her home smelled of essential oils-lavender was her favorite.

She is survived by a daughter, Jolene (Glen) Kline; three siblings Wanda VonHaase, Jeannette (Chris) McQuillen, and David (Judy) Johnson; only niece, Melody Jefferson; very special great-nephew, Scott Jefferson; grandson, Jake (Courtney) Clark; great-grandson, Oliver; and her grand-dogs, Buster and Maggie Mae. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by the love of her life, Bob Gilliam; grandparents; and numerous aunts and uncles.

The family will receive friends from 1:00-3:00 p.m. and 5:00-7:00 p.m. Monday, October 25, 2021, at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor John Johnson officiating. She will be laid to rest in LaRue Cemetery.
