Ramon Leo Trachta, born September 16, 1937 to Leona and Leo Trachta, passed away on February 28, 2024. “Ray” was known for his strong-willed and intelligent disposition. His enduring legacy includes his unwavering commitment to his beliefs.

He was a man who connected to nature and the great outdoors. He was a loving husband and caring father.

Ray met his wife Lenore in September 1957, and together they celebrated 66 years of marriage, raising three daughters. Through the highs and lows of life, Ray and Lenore remained steadfastly devoted to each other. Ray was predeceased by two of his adult daughters, Patti and Debra.

Ray’s life was defined by his love for hunting, camping, hiking, and many outdoor activities. Ray’s passion for unspoiled wilderness extended to his travels to National Parks with his family, creating cherished memories with his loved ones. He had a deep affection for dogs, with a loyal companion by his side throughout his life.

Ray studied engineering at the University of Iowa and worked in structural design in aerospace, including at Rice University.

Ray was not only a loving father but also a proud grandfather to 6 grandchildren. His legacy of love for family and nature will be carried forward through the generations he leaves behind.

A Funeral Mass will be held March 16, 2024 at Noon at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 304 S. Adams Rd., Spokane Valley, WA 99216

May Ray’s spirit forever roam the untouched outdoors he loved, and may his memory continue to bring comfort to those who loved him.
