Paul Le Roy Calhoun

Paul LeRoy Calhoun, 72, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on Saturday morning, February 25, 2023, at his home.

A committal celebrating his life will be held at a later date to be announced at the DFW National Cemetery, in Dallas.

Paul was born in Fort Worth, Texas, on May 2, 1950 to Vernon and Dorothy Calhoun.  Paul married Barbara Lively on November 26, 1975. He proudly served his country in the US Army.  Paul taught for over 20 years first at Irving High School and later at Granbury High School.  He enjoyed outdoor activities including hunting and fishing. Paul was known as a man who “could fix anything.”  Most of all, Paul will be remembered for his dry sense of humor and for the love he had for his family.

Paul is survived by his wife, Barbara; his children, Rebecca Lyn and husband Stephen Dooley, Stephanie Ann and husband Dean Hollingsworth, and Wesley Paul and wife Amy Calhoun; grandchildren, Edie, Marlie, Macaine, and Elizabeth; his sister, Lynn Calhoun; and by his brothers-in-law, Fred Lively and wife Paula, and Ted Lively and wife Laneta.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Mission Granbury or Camp Fire First Texas – campfirefw.org (camp scholarships).

Paul was preceded in death by his parents.
