Maysville, Missouri….Paul Edward DeHart, age 85, passed away Friday, February 16, 2024, at his home in Maysville, surrounded by his loving family.  He was born October 30, 1938, in Weatherby, Missouri, to John Raymond and Frances Lenora (Grace) DeHart.  He graduated from Maysville High School in 1956.

Paul joined the Air Force after graduation and was stationed in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. He was an airplane mechanic and was known as the “4th man” whenever he flew. 

Paul was the proud second owner of a rusted out ’57 Chevy that was found in a pasture. He took it home and completely restored it top to bottom. 

He married Joan “Joanie” Clouser on June 13, 2014, at his home in Maysville. He and Joanie enjoyed taking his ‘57 Chevy to car shows, visiting the kids, and as of the last several years going to Texas for the winter, as he loved the warmth and sunshine. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Dalton Lee Smith; and brother, Joseph DeHart. 

Survivors include his wife, Joan of the home; daughters, Maureen L. Smith and Paula “Chris” Purviance (Andy); 4 stepchildren; sister-in-law, Jeannie DeHart; grandchildren, Amber (Charles), Mitchell (Sara), Andrea (Christopher), Nathan (Nicole), Aaron (Jacqueline), Bryce, Connor (Kaitlyn); great-grandchildren, Parker, Evan, Neely, Natalie, Silas, Beckett, and another arriving in March; and many other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at Turner Family Funeral Home in Maysville with inurnment and full military honors immediately following at Shambaugh – Cope Cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
