Patricia Schmit, 82, of Springfield, formerly of Chicago, died at 12:21 pm, Thursday, May 19, 2022 at her home. She was born in Chicago, IL on June 23, 1939 to Earl and Eleanor (Collins) Herlan. She married John P. Schmit on August 10, 1968.

She is survived by her husband, John Schmit of Springfield and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, L. Collins Herlan.

Patricia was a homemaker most of her life and also worked as a real estate appraiser.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, May 26, 2022 at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
