HELEN CLOUD
January 30, 1935 – March 6, 2021
MAMOU – Funeral services were held at a 3 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Mamou on Tuesday, March 9, 2021, for Helen Cloud, 86, who passed away on Saturday, March 6, 2021, in Mamou.
Father Bala Rayapati was celebrant of the Mass and conduct funeral services.
Burial took place in the New St. Ann’s Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Mamou.
The family requested that visitation be observed at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Mamou on Tuesday, March 9, 2021, from 9 a.m. until time of services. A Rosary was recited on Tuesday at 2 p.m.
Helen Cloud was born on January 30, 1935, in Mamou to Lodias and Elvina Fontenot. She was a devout Catholic and parishioner at St. Ann’s for many years. She could be found in the front row at every Mass she attended. Helen worked at Richard and Barousse for over 37 years. She had an eye for fashion and took great pride in dressing her family and customers well. No matter the occasion, Helen was always elegantly dressed. A woman of faith, Helen believed everyone deserved respect. Her family and friends will miss her dearly.
She is survived by her two daughters, Lisa Fontenot and husband, Carlton, of Ball, and Freida Cloud Hebert and husband, Joey, of Mamou; one son, David Cloud of Mamou; five grandchildren, Jason Fontenot, Jeremy Guillory, Joey Fontenot, Jessica Reed, and Toni Miller; eight great-grandchildren, Stephen, Micah, Cain, Jean-Paul, Callie, Campbell, Remy, and Finn; and two sisters, Ruby Guillory, of Mamou, and Nelwyn Carrier, of Eunice.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jessie J. Cloud; parents, Lodias and Elvina Fontenot; son, Johnathan Craig Cloud; great granddaughter, Rosie Fontenot; and infant brother, James Fontenot.

VICTOR “GROS VIC” FONTENOT
November 1, 1953 – March 23, 2021
VILLE PLATTE – Funeral services will be held at a 2 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady, Queen of All Saints Catholic Church in Ville Plate on Friday, March 26, 2021, for Victor Fontenot, “Gros Vic,” 67, who passed away on Tuesday, March 23, 2021, at Mercy Regional Hospital in Ville Platte surrounded by his family.
Father Mitch Guidry will be celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services.
Burial will take place in the Tee Mamou Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Ville Platte.
At the request of the family, visitation will be observed today, March 25, 2021, at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Ville Platte from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. with a Rosary being prayed at 6:30 p.m. by Deacon Ben Soileau. Visitation will resume Friday, March 26, from 10 a.m. until time of services.
Victor Fontenot was born on November 1, 1953, to Joseph Elson Fontenot and Marie Elena Fontenot in Mamou. Vic was a lifelong resident of Ville Platte. He was a hard worker. He worked as a salesman selling mobile homes and RVs. He also worked as a truck driver and a farmer. Vic loved spending time with his family who meant the world to him. He especially loved his two grandchildren.
Victor is survived by his wife of over 30 years, Annette Semar Fontenot; five sons, all of Ville Platte, Tracy Wayne Fontenot, Logan Shane Fontenot, Victor Donovan Ross Fontenot, Dominic Marcello Fontenot, and Joseph Devin Alexis Fontenot; one daughter, Marie Estelle Guillory of Ville Platte; two grandchildren, Owen Shane Fontenot and Caroline Marie Fontenot; his brothers, Timothy Fontenot and Jody Anthony Fontenot, both of Ville Platte; and sister, Carlis Ann Davidson, of Ville Platte.
Vic is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Elson Fontenot and Marie Elena Fontenot; and daughter, Jamie Theresa Fontenot.

WILLIE MAE DUPRE
November 11, 1924 – March 20, 2021
PLAISANCE – Funeral services for Willie Mae Fontenot Dupre, 96, were held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 23, 2021. Ms. Dupre, a resident of Plaisance, passed away Saturday, March 20, 2021, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Opelousas.
Visitation was held Tuesday at LaVille Funeral Home from 9 a.m. until the time of services with a Rosary being recited at 10:30 a.m.
She will be deeply missed by her loving family, son John Nasen Dupre and wife, Stacey Elaine, of Plaisance; daughter, Charlene Dupre Briley, of Plaisance; three grandchildren, John Steven Briley, David Scott Briley, and Joshua Nasen Dupre; three great grandchildren, Liam James Miller, Adabella Marie Briley, and Aiden Miles Briley.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Regile and Lenexa Fontenot; husband, Nasen Dupre; son-in-law, Miles Briley; brother, Cleveland Fontenot; sisters, Aza Fontenot, Ana Fontenot, and Adele Fontenot.

RAYMOND NORRIS SWAIN
May 10, 1943 – March 16, 2021
Memorial services for Mr. Raymond Norris Swain were held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 23, 2021, at Rush Funeral Home, Pine Prairie. Mr. Swain, 77, of the Crooked Creek Community, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, March 16, 2021, at his residence with his loving family by his side.
Reverend Kevin West officiated.
Interment followed in Arlington National Cemetery, Washington, D.C.
THERESA HOGAN VIDRINE
August 3, 1960 – March 17, 2021
Graveside services for Ms. Theresa Hogan Vidrine were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 20, 2021, at Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery, Pine Prairie, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale. Ms. Vidrine, 60, of Pine Prairie, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 in her residence. Reverend Ervin Goodman officiated.
