Nathaniel M. Williams Jr.

Nathaniel M. Williams Jr.

Nathaniel M Williams, Jr. Went home to be with the Lord on January 2, 2022. Born August 14, 1963, in Akron, Ohio to Nathaniel Williams and Ethel Jean Williams. He was raised in North Akron, Ohio where he created long lasting friendships. Later, his family relocated to Fairlawn, Ohio where he attended Copley High School, where he played basketball and football. As of today, he still holds records in both sports. After graduating high school, he attended The University of Akron and Kent State University.
Nate had a strong relationship with the Lord. He was a retired crane operator in the steel industry. He proudly served in the United States Army. He met the love of his life in 2001 and on June 10, 2011, the two became one. Between the two of them they shared 5 beautiful children and 7 grandchildren.
Nate was an avid fisherman. He loved fishing with his dad, his brother and close friends. He treasured yearly fishing trips to Fremont with his dad. Since around the age of 9, he’s had a passion for motorcycles. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles throughout his life with his brothers, close friends and his father. His love for music was unlike any other. He listened to every genre of music. He had a very, very strong love for Bob Marley (he talked to Bob daily)!! He was a diehard Pittsburgh Steeler’s and Los Angeles Laker’s fan. Nate coached peewee football for many years. Coaching peewee football gave him great pleasure and created long-lasting bounds with his players and fellow coaches. What he enjoyed most was watching movies and spending time with his grandsons.

Nate valued and treasured family tremendously. His proudest moments were the birth of his

first born son, Stephen, and his daughter, Teja. Later in life, after meeting the love of his life, Tara, he welcomed her 3 sons with open arms.
Nate absolutely loved food and enjoyed when his cousins, Bambi (Tonya Tillman) or Denise, would call him to come get a plate. For decades, he found joy in their close bond over food. He loved spending hours talking to special family and friends; too many to name but they know who they are.

Nate was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Williams, Sr.; son, Kevionne Jeffries; and beloved mother, Ethel Williams.

He’s survived by his loving wife, Tara Williams; children, Teja Williams of Indianapolis,  Stephen Turner of Georgia, Romeo Jeffries, Karl Thomas Jr, both of Akron; grandchildren, Romeo Jeffries, Mathiez Jeffries, Rosario Marchette-Jeffries, Natalie (Pretty Girl) McGhee, Zayn Chargualaf, Aiden Davis and Giovanni Thomas; father, Nathaniel Williams; brothers, Brandon (Karen) Williams, Terrance Williams; sister, Michelle (Marvin) Bennett; brother-in law, Frank (Mary) McCray; sister-in law, Sharon Brandon; and a host  of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
