Nancy L. Tucker

Nancy L. Tucker, 83, of Chatham, died on Friday, March 26, 2021 at Mill Creek Alzheimer’s Special Care Center.  She was born December 5, 1937 in Rockford, IL to Earl Lynn and Winifred Ruth (Noble) Steffa. She married Edwin Tracy Tucker on August 28, 1965 and he preceded her in death on March 31, 2011.   Also preceding her in death are her parents.

Survivors include one daughter, Susan (Michael) Friedman of Springfield, three grandchildren: Mackenzie, Mallorie and Trace; and cousins, Chris Young and Steve Gates.

Nancy earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Northern Illinois University in Elementary Education and was an elementary school teacher at Chatham Elementary School, retiring after many years of service. She was a member of Chatham Presbyterian Church. Nancy enjoyed primitive antiques, especially buying and selling them.

Memorial Gathering: 10:30 am – 12:30 pm, Monday, April 5, 2021 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.

Memorial Service: 12:30 pm, Monday, April 5, 2021 at Staab Funeral Home -Springfield with Chaplain Tim Haworth officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
