Myrtie Irene Rogers, 96, of Cantrall, died on Sunday, August 15, 2021 at her home. She was born November 4, 1924, in Irving, the daughter of George E. and Bertha M. (Wheeler) Bowen. She married Warren J. “Joe” Rogers on May 23, 1942 and he preceded her in death in 1979.
She is also preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Dorothy Jackson and Lois Kinsger; three brothers, Gale, Ira and Bill Bowen; one daughter, Beverly Knox; and one great-grandson, Nick Roach.
Survivors include three daughters, Wanda Murphy of Arkansas, Sharon (Bill) Vala of Cantrall and Judy (Mike) Martin of Kansas; nine grandchildren; several great and great-great grandchildren; one sister, Georgia Mae Walker of Oklahoma; three brothers, Lester (Sis) Bowen of Pacific, MO, Roger (Karen) Bowen of Arnold, MO and Roy (Shirley) Bowen of Eureka, MO; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Myrtie was an active member of Cantrall Methodist Church. She belonged to Riverton Lioness Club. She worked as a merchandiser at Woolworth/Woolco Department Stores, retiring after 26 years.
Visitation: 9 – 11 am, Thursday, August 19, 2021 at Staab Funeral Home – Sherman.
Funeral: 11:00 am, Thursday, August 19, 2021 at Staab Funeral Home – Sherman with Reverend Cindy Rettig officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Park
