Monique Andrus
- May 22, 2023
Monique “Nikki” Andrus, age 64, departed this life on May 14, 2023. Nikki was born in Canton, Ohio to the late Joan and Dewitt (Doug) Redmon on March 24, 1959.
Nikki was educated in Canton City Schools. It was during this time she performed African dancing and modeling. She went on to find her passion caring for individuals in the Mental Health & Developmental Disabilities Community. To family and friends, Nikki was known for throwing big barbecues, cooking good food, throwing extravagant events, elaborate decorations, and always provided a welcoming greeting to those who entered her home. Nikki was a loving mother, sister, niece, cousin, and friend, however, putting a BIG smile on her grandchildren’s faces brought her the most joy of all. Nikki was baptized alongside her daughter at Deliverance Christian Church and just recently rededicated her life to Christ.
Nikki was preceded in death by her parents, Joan Williams, Dewitt (Doug) Redmon, and Shirley Redmon, her granddaughter, Jianni Patterson, and her dearest friend, Percy Parks.
To carry on her legacy, Nikki leaves her children, Victwan Dorsey, Varian Parks, and Taria (Charles) Reynolds; Grandchildren Jeremiah Jackson, Juhmanie Smith, Victwan Dorsey Jr, Timia Parks, Jakhan Patterson, Zion Moore, Octavien Moore, Victoria Dorsey, Laila Reynolds, Tahira Parks, Demell Dorsey, Charles Reynolds IV, Cattleya Reynolds; 8 great grandchildren; siblings William Matthews, Debra Harris, Rochelle Jones, Dewitt (Dougy) Redmon, Cassandra (Sandy) West- Pearson, Sesley Williams, Jacqueleen Williams, Stanley Williams Aunts; Emma Lee Milan and Barbara Brown; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.
