Michael M. Flanary

Michael M. Flanary, 68, passed away in Barhamsville, Virginia on May 30, 2022.
He was preceded in death by his mother Eleanor S. Flanary and father, Fred M. Flanary.
He is survived by his brother, Stephen H. Flanary (Patti), nieces, Elizabeth Hogge (Daniel), Lauren Redd and Melissa Redd, and nephew Lewis Flanary (Lindsey), great niece and great nephew
Brooke and Bryce, as well as many close friends.
Michael was born in Williamsburg and lived all of his life in the area. He was a 1971 graduate of James Blair High School and gradated from the University of Tennesee, Knoxville with a B.S. in
Banking. He worked for Colonial Williamsburg in the General Cashiers office and for numerous political campaigns in Virginia before starting his accounting business, Michael M. Flanary and
Associates, where he developed many relationships helping people navigate their income taxes. He served on the Board of Directors for the First Advantage Federal Credit Union. He also served as a Deacon for the Williamsburg Presbyterian church.
He had a passion for all things University of Tennessee, so his favorite color was orange. He enjoyed kayaking, attending baseball games and going to UT football games, especially when he could take his nephew.
A memorial service will be held on June 14 at 3:30 at Legacy Hall in New Town, Williamsburg, VA. Reception to follow immediately.
