Michael Gene Hodges Jr., 29, of Cedar Rapids, died on October 12, 2023.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, October 27, 2023, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW.
Homegoing services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, October 28, 2023, at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, with burial to follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Michael was born August 21, 1994, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Joyce Rucker and Michael Hodges Sr. He also has a son Michael Hodges III, 8 years old of Cedar Rapids, IA. He graduated from Kennedy High School in 2012. Michael worked full time and was a full-time straight A student enrolled in the architecture program. He enjoyed traveling, shopping, cooking, sports, spending time with family and friends, and loved to dress.
Michael is survived by his mother Joyce Rucker of Des Moines, his father Michael Hodges Sr. of Cedar Rapids, his son Michael Hodges lll of Iowa City and his grandmother; Brenda Pledge of Des Moines. Siblings; Whitney Rucker, Robert Seals, Guy Rucker JR, Sa’Mia Rucker, Malaisha Hodges, Makya Rucker, Malon Hodges, Malique Hodges, Amaja Rucker, Avery Pledge.
He was preceded in death by his brother Matrell Johnson. Grandparents; Florence Hodges and Willie B Hodges Sr.
