Melvin Bernard Seeling Sr., 85, of Azle, Texas, went to be in the arms of our Lord and Savior on May 1, 2023.
Graveside Service: 10:00 A.M., Friday, May 5, 2023 at Sutherland Springs Cemetery, 6961 FM 539, Sutherland Springs, Texas 78161.
Visitation: 5:00 to 8:00 P.M., Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at Biggers Funeral Home, 6100 Azle Avenue, Lake Worth, Texas 76135.
Melvin was born in Jefferson Parrish, Louisiana, on August 1st, 1937, to George Joseph Seeling and Elvira Violet Niemann. Melvin attended school in Kenner, Louisiana, graduating from Kenner High School and then enlisting in the United States Air Force. After retirement from the Air Force in 1979, he went to work at General Dynamics for 13 years in logistics and robotics. He also wanted to drive a truck and did so for another 13 years.
Melvin was first and foremost a husband, father, and role model. He became a mason on May 5, 1975, and was very involved. He was a past master of Ridglea 1341, Worthy Patron of Ridglea 999 OES, 32° Knight Commander of the Court of Honour (KCCH), past high priest of Ridglea Chapter 485, Post Thrice pastor of Ridglea Council 400, NRA Patriot life member, and life member of VFW 8235.
Melvin was preceded in death by his Angel, Betty L. Seeling, they were married for over 60 years.
Melvin and the late Betty L. Seeling were married on May 5, 1962, they had three sons, Melvin Seeling Jr. (Amy), Norman Seeling, and Jay Seeling; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Leroy Frazier (Carol), sister-in-law, Laura Hansen (Doug); numerous nieces and nephews.
