Mary “Virginia” Womack

Mary “Virginia” Womack 85, of Edinburg, died on Monday, January 10, 2022 at Taylorville Memorial Hospital. She was born August 30, 1936 in Springfield, to Howard and Mildred (Scott) Lauchner. She married Alva Robert “Bob” Womack on January 15, 1955 and he preceded her in death on March 31, 2005.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Adam Yeaman and nephew, Steve Anders.

Survivors include four children, Debra (Lonnie) Yeaman, Diane Havice, Robert “Rob” Womack and Randal “Randy” (Karen) Womack all of Edinburg; twelve grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; one sister, Jean Anders of Springfield; sister-in-law, Marilyn Womack of Springfield; brother-in-law, Rolla Womack of Dawson and several nieces and nephews.

Virginia was a member of Buffalo Christian Church.

She enjoyed gardening and flowers; word search puzzles; dining out; relaxing on her porch and most of all spending time with her family.

Visitation: 3-5 pm, Sunday, January 16, 2022 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.

Funeral Service: 11 am, Monday, January 17, 2022 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield with Pastor Rick Wenneborg officiating. Burial will follow at Edinburg Cemetery.
