Mary M. Stocker

Mary M. Stocker

It is with great sadness, that Lynne and Laurie announce the passing of their mother, Mary M. Stocker and for those who were lucky enough to have her spaghetti and meatballs, you will no longer be able to do so.

Born in Barnhill on November 26, 1935, she was the daughter of the late John and Angelina (Bonelli) Police. After graduating from the former St. Mary’s High School in 1953, she began working for Pan American Airlines at Cape Canaveral, Florida. She retired in 1995 from the former Bank One at Dover where she worked as a Loan Processor.

Mary was a longtime parishioner of Sacred Heart Church at New Philadelphia where she grew in her faith and also a member of the L.C.B.A. Mary loved to travel to Los Angeles, California to visit her grandchildren and always left with great memories that she forever cherished.

On May 26, 1973, Mary married Kenneth L. Stocker, who preceded her in death in December 2020. Additionally, she will be deeply missed by her daughters, Laurie (Alan) Burrell-Grewell of New Philadelphia and Lynne Vinkovic of California; her step children, Cynthia Stocker and Wesley Stocker and friend Victor Rotondo, all of New Philadelphia; her grandchildren, Grace and Ben Vinkovic; her step grandchildren, Ray (Erica) Wilson, Michelle (Harlen) Hirning, and Jesse (Harmony) Wilson; several great-grandchildren and will be sadly missed by her two sisters, Laura Whitred and Sandra (Ron) Contini and her sister-in-law, Mary Police.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Mary was also preceded in death by her brother, Joseph Police.

Visitation will be held Monday, March 29, 2021 from 9 to 10 AM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home at New Philadelphia. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 AM in Sacred Heart Church at New Philadelphia with Father Jeff Coning officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery at New Philadelphia.

Due to COVID, safety precautions will be taken. The 6-foot rule will be honored and all guests are required to wear a mask to enter the funeral home.

Memorial contributions in Mary’s memory may be directed to Community Hospice, 716 Commercial Avenue SW, New Philadelphia, OH 44663.

Finally, the daughters ask that when you pass by the home, please wave and think of a fond memory of Mary and Ken, sitting on the back porch, which they loved to do all summer long.
