Mary Lou Disco

Mary Lou Disco, 86, of Springfield, passed away on Thursday, February 18, 2021 at Memorial Medical Center. She was born November 10, 1934 to Falbert and Virginia Gates Skinner. She married Vincent Disco September 4, 1954 and he preceded her in death November 1, 1997.

Mary Lou is also preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Norma Armstrong; and two brothers, Donald and Kenneth Skinner.

Survivors include two daughters, Cynthia (Steven) Bahner of Williamsville and Rebecca Powell of Springfield; two sons, Robert Disco of Rochester and Michael (Susan) Disco of Springfield; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, JoAnn and Shirley Skinner; her good friend, Sam Giannone and many other good friends; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mary Lou belonged to various organizations including, St. Louise de Marillac Guild, AARP, Red Hats, Coffee Girls, Pinochle Group, and Jerome Homemakers. She was a member of St. Agnes Church. Mary Lou worked as Office Manager at Sangamon County Soil and Water Conservation District, retiring in 1991.

Visitation: 10:30 am – 12:30 pm, Thursday, February 25, 2021 at St. Agnes Church.

Funeral Mass: 12:30 pm, Thursday, February 25, 2021 at St. Agnes Church with Reverend Richard Chiola officiating. Burial will follow
at Old Salem Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Agnes Church or Catholic Charities Food Bank.
