Mary Jo Stewart

Mary Jo Stewart, age 74, of Uhrichsville, died early Sunday, October 10, 2021, in Claymont Health and Rehabilitation Center at Uhrichsville following a period of declining health.

Born in Dennison on March 15, 1947, Mary Jo was a daughter of the late Frank and Rose Battalio Chini. She was a 1966 graduate of St. Mary’s School and a lifelong member of Immaculate Conception Church at Dennison.

Early in life Mary Jo worked as a nurse’s aide and later focused her work to caring for her family. She loved cooking, shopping, spending time with her family, watching the afternoon soap operas and rarely turned down a Wendy’s Cheeseburger.

Surviving are her children, Ronnie (Bobbie) Stewart, Jr. of Massillon, Brian (Megan McConnell) Stewart of Byesville, and Melissa (Martin) Drexler of New Philadelphia; her grandchildren, Bradley Foster, Stormy Stewart, Summer Stewart, Joshua, Luke, Cody and Katie Drexler; a great-granddaughter, Lorelei Clubbs; a brother, Dave Chini of Uhrichsville and two nephews, Chris and Matt Chini.

In keeping with Mary Jo’s wishes, there will be no public visitation or services. Cremation care has been conducted by the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. Private inurnment will take place in the St. Mary’s Cemetery at Dennison.
