Mary Carman Davis
- March 6, 2023
Mary “Carmen” Davis, 68, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to many, passed away peacefully Thursday morning, March 2, 2023. Carmen was a lifelong resident of Waxahachie and currently a Bluff Dale resident.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 11 A.M., on Friday, March 10, 2023, at the Wiley Funeral Home, 400 Highway 377 East, in Granbury.
Carmen was born on October 8, 1954, in Waxahachie, Texas, to Domingo and Mary Gonzales. She had a love of plants and flowers and could make anything grow. She took pride in the many beautiful blooms in the yard of her little yellow house. Carmen worked at Lowes Home Improvement in Waxahachie for many years. She could often be found with a Dr. Pepper in her hand on the way to a “junk store” as she called them. Carmen was also known as “Moogie” by her grandchildren and those that loved her. She will affectionately be remembered for her love of everyone and for always putting others first. Regardless of what was going on in her life, she always worried about others and put their needs ahead of her own.
Carmen is survived by her daughters, Stephanie and husband Joe Prcin and Monica and husband Cody Derrick; her grandchildren, Morgan and husband Will Woolverton, Kota and wife Lindsay Prcin, Logan and wife Kaylee Derrick, Keelan Derrick, Alana “Spencer” Wilkinson, Connor Derrick, and Easton Derrick; her great-grandchildren, Addy and Kittrick Derrick; her sisters, Cindy Serrano, Pat James, Melody Gonzales, Linda Lanoue, Brenda Thomas, Loretta Marshall, and Yolanda Torres; step-mother Mary Q. Gonzales; her aunt, Betsy Martinez; and by her faithful beloved dog, Rylee.
Carmen was preceded in death by her parents.
