Mark R. Jacobs, 69, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Dec. 10, 2022.

Memorial services will be held at noon Thursday, Dec. 15, at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 1007 Rider St., Iowa City, with Pastor Dale Morrison officiating. A luncheon will follow the service. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to noon. Graveside Committal will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Blairstown.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Sandra Jacobs for the Church or the Brain Injury Assn.

Mark was born April 22, 1953, in Clinton, the son of Richard and Patricia (Hammond) Jacobs. He was a 1972 graduate of Durant High School and attended Muscatine Community College. On Aug. 20, 1994, Mark married Sandra Meyer in Blairstown.

He was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and the Iowa Hawkeyes, especially football. Mark had worked at Goodwill Industries and Iowa City Optical. He loved sharing the word of God by distributing church magazines throughout the community.

Mark is survived by his wife, Sandra; his brother, Steven (Diana) Jacobs of Urbandale; nephews, Chad (Christina), James, Brian (Cassie) and Carl (Kayla); cousins, John, Mike, and Scott; his in-laws, Carl and Betty Meyer of Marengo; and sisters-in-law, Cheryl (Don) Plager and Joan (Steven) Christiansen.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two aunts, Jacqueline (George) and Barbara (Robert).
