Marjorie Ann (Albertson) Twaddle, 103, of Forney, Texas, formerly of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away peacefully on December 5, 2024, in her home. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids. The family will greet friends from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion, Iowa. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Cedar Rapids.

Born on December 23, 1920, in Quincy, Illinois, she was the daughter of Paul and Edith (Milbert) Albertson. On January 23, 1943, she married Dean Twaddle in Palmyra, Missouri. She resided in Marion for 52 years before moving to Cedar Rapids, where she lived for an additional six years. In 2020, she relocated to Forney, Texas, to live with her son, Mike. She graduated from Quincy High School and Gem City College. She worked as a librarian at Linn-Mar Community School District for ten years.

She and Dean were members of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Marion, where she enjoyed singing in the funeral choir. They were members of Indian Creek Golf Country Club. Marjorie loved playing golf with Dean and her friends and watching golf on TV. She also enjoyed doing cross stitch, playing Joker with friends, reading mysteries, shopping, and traveling. Marjorie enjoyed cooking and baking for her family; she was known for her homemade German egg noodles that she made for nearly every holiday meal. Marjorie was very proud of the many grandchildren and loved each one. Even to the end, she still loved going to Mass, eating out, and visiting with grandchildren.

Left to cherish her memory include her children, Mike of Forney, Texas, James “Jim” (Connie) of Owatonna, Minnesota, Mark (Adriane) of Marshfield, Missouri, Jeff (Susan) of Rossville, Kansas, and Janet (Stuart) Carpenter of Westminster, Colorado; 43 grandchildren; 80 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; spouse, Dean Twaddle; and daughter-in-law, Mary Twaddle.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marjorie’s memory.
