Margaret “Marge” Bohlken, 77, of Anamosa, passed away on March 9th, 2023 at St Luke’s Hospital with her family by her side. A funeral service will be held Saturday, March 25th at 1:00 PM at St Paul’s Lutheran Church in Anamosa, Iowa. Directly following the funeral there will be a social gathering with pie and ice cream from 2:00 to 4:00. A private burial will be held at a later date.

Marge was born February 9th, 1946 in Davenport, Iowa. She is the daughter of Robert and Helen (Graham) Shaw. She married Wayne Bohlken on August 5th, 1967 and they had two sons, Matthew and Erik. She was most recently employed as a teller at Citizens Savings Bank in Anamosa, and retired in 2011.

Marge was a member of St Paul’s Lutheran Church in Anamosa and the Jones County Regional Hospital Auxiliary. Marge was a wonderful, kind, loving and caring mother, grandmother and friend who will be dearly missed by all who loved her.

Survivors include her former husband and lifelong friend Wayne Bohlken; two sons, Matthew (Michelle) Bohlken of Sunrise Beach, Missouri, and Erik (Jessica) Bohlken of Independence, Iowa; four grandchildren, Jacob, Mitchell, Megann and Grace Bohlken; two brothers Robert (Judy) Shaw of Knoxville, Tennessee and Larry (Partner Vicki Coppinger) Shaw of Davenport, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Helen Shaw, and her sister-in-law Pam Shaw.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that you make a donation to the Marge Bohlken Memorial Fund that has been set up at Citizens Savings Bank in Anamosa. All funds will be donated to Marge’s favorite charitable organizations.
