Marco Henderson

Marco Henderson

Marco L Henderson was born in Lorain, Oh on October 4, 1957 to William (Bill) and Eleanor Henderson.  Marco and family moved to East Cleveland where he later graduated from Shaw High School.  Marco played high school basketball and played the Soprano Saxophone.  He attended St Augustine College in Raleigh, NC where he was sought out for his height and basketball skills. Marco passed suddenly on May 27, 2021 in Bedford, OH.

Marco had a firm relationship with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and would invite everyone he met to come to church with him, no matter where he was.  Marco loved to meet and talk to people, as he never met a stranger.  He enjoyed playing card games (Bid Whist and Spades) especially with his sister Gerri. Marco had a love for all sports and would watch then at every chance. He was the unofficial commentator for many games. Family had a special meaning to Marco and he would spend as much time with family as possible and always tried to stay connected.

Marco was proceeded in death by his parents Bill (Dorothy) Henderson and Eleanor Henderson-Wilcher (George); and sister Dr. Geraldine (Geri) Henderson.  He leaves to mourn his loss sisters Staci Henderson (NJ) Kathy Henderson (VA); brothers Byron K Henderson (Cleveland, OH) Foster (Kellina) Henderson (VA); a special friend Karen Payne; and a host of cousins, family and friends.

We are comforted with the Word of God in 2 Corinthians 5:8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. (KJV)  We know that we will see our dear Marco again in that great getting up morning, for 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God; and the dead in Christ shall rise first.  Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air; and so shall we ever be with the Lord. (KJV).

The family would like to thank everyone for their prayers and words of support during this time.  Thank you to the Calhoun Funeral Home for assisting us during this difficult time.
