Maenell Kathryn Schoenherr

Maenell Kathryn Schoenherr, 65, of Springfield died at 8:41 pm, Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at Memorial Medical Center. She was born on October 8, 1955 in Springfield to Richard B. and Geraldine (Pierce) Thompson. She married George M. Schoenherr on October 8, 1991 and he preceded her in death on May 6, 1992.

She is survived by a daughter, Teresa Schoenherr (fiancé Jeremy Watson) of Springfield; step-daughter, Aimee (Robert) Parker of Franklin, TN and step-son, Michael (Beth) Schoenherr of Waggoner, IL and seven grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents.

Maenell worked in office administration at SIU Family Practice and also worked at Trinity Lutheran School for many years. She volunteered for church and school organizations over the years. She was an animal lover who always took in animals in need.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date at Camp Butler National Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Springfield Muni Opera.
