Madonna L. Seitz

Madonna L. Seitz, 86 of Springfield, died at 6:20 pm, Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at her home. She was born February 10, 1935 in Greenup, IL to Lawrence and Mamie Vaughn Carlen. She married Stephen Seitz, Jr. in 1963 and he preceded her in death on October 11, 1992.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; six sisters, Dorothy Carlen, Lena Wofford, Lela Wendling, Harriet Laymon, Jane Jones and Shirley Poffinbarger and two brothers, Podger and Robert Carlen.

Survivors include one daughter, Lori L. Seitz (Bob Robinson) of Springfield; two grandchildren, Mary Seitz (Charles Phillips) and Jordan Seitz; three great grandchildren, Jayden, Aylah and Kingston Phillips; one brother, Hubert Carlen of Greenup, and several nieces and nephews.

Madonna retired from Franklin Life Insurance Company as an Accountant after thirty-seven and half years of service.

She enjoyed bowling, playing cards, puzzles, Yatzee, gardening, her flowers, and traveling with her sisters.

Visitation: 10:30 am – 12:30 pm, Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.

Funeral Service: 12:30 pm, Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield with Pastor Donn Stephens officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
