Luther Eugene Land
Luther Eugene Land, 86 of Sun City Arizona gained his Heavenly reward on Monday, February 22, 2021, at 8:05 PM with his surviving children by his side.
Luther was born on December 13, 1934, in Craighead, Arkansas (Hoxie) County; to parents James and Emma Land. Gene (as he was called) spent his childhood in Arkansas. In his late teens, he met his future wife Bonnie Jane Miller. Luther and Bonnie were married on April 4, 1953. The couple moved their family from Southern California to Phoenix AZ in the summer of 1963. Luther worked at Garret – Air Research for his entire career. The couple graduated Bible College together in 1962 before moving to AZ. Once in Arizona, Luther continued his passion for Ministry, Pastoring for more than 30 years. As he neared retirement his Ministry focus moved toward Evangelistic work. He spent the last 25 years of his life preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ all over the United States. Evangelist Land (as he was known) was a passionate preacher, his love for the Word of God shined through in every message.
Luther is preceded in death by his first wife Bonnie J. Miller Land, his father James Land, Mother Emma Hall Land Seeley, & eldest son Eldon Land. He is survived by his wife Louise Felkins Shrum, Her Children Linda, Stacey & David, his daughter Melitta Felkins Sanders, Lydia Felkins, Rocky Land & Stephen Land, a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. His legacy of Faith will live on through his loved ones and those whose lives were forever changed through his Ministry.
Services and Viewing will be held from 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM on March 12, 2021, at Wiley Funeral Home located at 400 E Highway 377, Granbury Texas, 76048. Dad will be laid to rest at Tolar Cemetery at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, March 13, 2021, near his Mother (Emma Hall Land Seeley), and first Wife (Bonnie J Land).
A memorial service for Family and Friends in Phoenix, AZ will be held at Life Tabernacle Church located at 702 E South Mountain Avenue on Saturday, March 27th at 11:00 AM. We hope that you will join family and friends as we celebrate the Ministry & Legacy of this Mighty Man of God.
