Lois Marilyn (Warren) Logan departed this earth to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, April 13, 2024.

She was born May 7, 1933 on the family farm in rural Cambridge, Story County, Iowa, the youngest of four children born to Otis John Warren and Bertha Lovina Severtson.

Lois attended school at Milford Township Consolidated Schools in Story County, Iowa, graduating with the Class of 1950. She played basketball, clarinet in the band, and was part of the Literary Club. She continued her education at Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa obtaining a two-year teacher’s certificate.

She taught school in Slater, Iowa, before meeting Richard Logan, who had just returned from the Korean Conflict. She ended her teaching career and they were married August 16, 1953 at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Ames, Iowa. They made their home in Story City, Iowa, moved to Mason City, Iowa, where their daughter Debbie was born and then back to Story City where sons Mark and Gary were born. They then moved to Cedar Rapids, Iowa, in 1969.

Lois was active as a Girl Scout leader, Sunday School teacher, and later as a Stephen Minister and part of the Morning Connection Group of the local Christian Women’s Association. She worked as a secretary/admin for Cedar Hills Reformed Church, Caterpillar Inc., and Alliant Energy formerly Iowa Electric Light and Power Company, all in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She enjoyed traveling, baking chocolate chip cookies, sewing, growing flowers, and reading and studying the Bible.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Richard Dean; her daughter Debra Kay Logan and all her siblings: Wesley John Warren, Mavis Lovina (Warren) Nelson, and Gloria Lorrain (Warren) Grant.

Those left to remember her memory are her sons, Mark (Thea) Logan of Marion, IA; Gary (Maria) Logan of Crystal Lake, IL; six grandchildren: Kaitlyn Larson (Niles) of Elk Mountain, WY; David (Chi) Logan of Citrus Heights, CA; Kyle (Brittany) Logan of Wabasha, MN; Aria (Ryan) Bochert of Cedar Rapids, IA; Emily Logan of Westminster, CO; and Richard Logan of Crystal Lake, IL, along with six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in the Faith Worship Center, 8300 C Avenue, Marion, Iowa on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at 11:00 am, with Pastor Paul Hennings officiating. A luncheon will follow the funeral at the church. An interment service will follow at Shiloh Cemetery, 2047 Blairs Ferry Road, Hiawatha, Iowa, with Alice Murray officiating.

Flowers may be delivered to the church on the morning of the service. Memorials may be sent to St. Mark’s Lutheran Church Choral Music Fund.
