Linda Nell (Flick) Anderson

On Saturday, 28 August, 2021, Linda Nell (Flick) Anderson (aged 74) broke free from the pain and suffering of 40+ years of complications from Type 1 Diabetes, selfishly leaving her devoted husband and loving daughter to  sort out all the Hobby Lobby craft supplies she never opened.
Linda was born in Antioch, CA but grew up in Oceanside. She had an infectious smile and beautiful laugh. As a teenager and young adult, Linda was a talented seamstress, making all her own clothes. Her sewing carried on when she became a mother and she made all her daughter’s clothes too. Linda was an impeccable homemaker and doting wife and mother who spent her adult life serving others through volunteer work at local churches, hospitals, and through Beta Sigma Phi International (ΒΣΦ), a non-academic sorority that focuses on helping women.
As an adult, Linda’s creative talent branched out and she enjoyed drawing (pen/chalk), painting (watercolor), cake decorating and macramé. She was a prolific crocheter and every child within 20 miles receive a handmade layette that included a blanket, booties and sweater delivered to them on the day they were born. Linda’s creative work in the area of ceramics often drew the attention and appreciation of others because of the beautiful glazing techniques she used. She also had the ability to paint incredibly life like eyes on ceramic animal and/or human faces.
When diabetes robbed her of her eye sight and ability to walk, Linda gave up drawing and painting, but she continued to smile, laugh, croquet and volunteer. She remained a doting wife and mother until the day she passed away.
Linda is survived by her husband, Louis (Andy) Anderson of Hendersonville, NC; daughter, Rosalynn Anderson-Lederer of Wellington, New Zealand; Sister, Evadene (Flick) Brosky of Pace, FL; nieces Becky (Flick) Walker of Oceanside, Melinda (Brosky) Young of Camden, NC; Angela (Flick) Davidson of Vista CA; nephews Keith Flick of Kings Beach, CA; and Kyle Flick of Tahoe Vista, CA and all their families.
