Leslie E. Fisher

Leslie E. (Tom) Fisher, 92, died on April 24, 2021 at his home. Born and raised in Hendersonville, NC, he was the son of the late William C. Fisher and Leslie May Fisher Clark.
He attended Hendersonville City Schools and Brevard College. He earned a BS in Biology from Furman University, and an MS and EdS from Western Carolina University. He taught science at Flat Rock High School and East Henderson High. He also taught science and serviced as Vice Principal at Flat Rock Junior High. He served as Principal at Tuxedo Elementary for 19 years before retiring in 1992.
Tom served in the US Army in Korea from 1951-1953. He was a member of Mud Creek Baptist Church, where he taught a mens Sunday school class. He was also a member of Sertoma, and a lifetime member of the VFW. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed raising & training Border Collies. He treasured time spent with his family and friends, especially on his carport.
He is survived by his wife, Pat Reep Fisher of 70 ½ years, and their three children, Yvonne Fisher Schaefer of Stony Point, NC, W. Alexander Fisher (Cynthia) of Granite Falls, NC, and Anne Marie Fisher Scott (Warren) of Hendersonville, NC; three grandchildren, Brandon Scott (Sherena) of Hendersonville, Christine Deitz and Will Neff of Granite Falls, NC; and three great grandchildren, Zack Allison, Rachel Bates and Mason Scott. He is also survived by two sisters, Jean Clark Morrison (Ray) of Lake Wylie, SC and Peggy Davis (Buck); a brother, John Fisher of Chesapeake, VA; sister-in-law, Nancy Reep Campbell (Gib) of Hendersonville and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held for the family at a later date. Burial will private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hendersonville Rescue Mission, PO Box 1512, Hendersonville, NC 28793.
