Leona Morarie, 89, of Savanna, Ill., died Wednesday May 17, 2023, at home.

Visitation will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 23, followed by her funeral at 11 a.m. at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories, Cedar Rapids. Burial will follow at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.

Leona was born Aug. 25, 1933, in Hazleton, N.D., the daughter of Martin and Magdalena (Knodel) Ohlhauser. She married George Morarie on Nov. 26, 1966, she was a homemaker and she worked at Clean Towel for many years.

She enjoyed cooking, making candy, crocheting, going dancing with her husband and spending time with her family. She also loved spending time with her dogs.

Leona is survived by son, Steven Morarie of Cedar Rapids; daughter, Teresa (Robert) Bauer of Savanna, Ill.; granddaughter, Alicia Bauer; her brother, Ernie Ohlhauser of Cedar Rapids; as well as numerous loving nieces and nephews; also by her beloved dog Daisy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, three sisters and her husband.
