Leldon Wayne McBrayer

Leldon Wayne McBrayer, 88, of Granbury, Tx went to his eternal home on February 6th, 2022.  Memorial services for Leldon will be held Sunday, February 13th, at 2:00 PM at Acton Baptist Church in Acton, TX. Burial will follow in Holly Hills Cemetery in Granbury, Texas.  Friends may visit with the family on Saturday from 3 PM to 6 PM with a viewing at Martin’s Funeral Home, also in Granbury.

 

Leldon McBrayer was born February 18th, 1933 in Hall County, to Odell Luke McBrayer and Ola McBrayer. He was the third child of seven. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Carolyn Davis and brothers Odell and Gene. Survived by sister, Barbara Brown and brothers Jerry and David McBrayer.

 

Leldon is also survived by:  Wife, Mona Whitlow McBrayer, his loving wife of 45 years, of Granbury; Children; Darwin McBrayer (former spouse, Amy Russel Coyle) and his wife Patty McBrayer; Denise McBrayer and Mari’a Madigan; Douglas McBrayer and wife Kim; Vicki Whitlow; Debbie Whitlow Piske and husband Darrell.

 

Leldon served in the U.S. Air Force in 1954 to 1957 and the Reserves until 1962 before beginning a career at Fort Worth Star Telegram and then to Henson’s Lumber Company where he ran the Dublin, Tx store.

 

Leldon’s greatest loves were for his Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren; Grandchildren:  Shannon McBrayer and wife Chelsea; Dustin Piske; Dalton Piske and his wife Taylor;  Dylan Piske; Nicole McBrayer Florez and husband Patrick; Justin Jennings and former spouse Melissa.  He had seven Great Grandchildren: McKynlee and Cannan Piske; Brazos and Millie McBrayer; Jocelyn Florez; Arlo Benedict; Dawson Piske; Mikayla and Eliana Jennings.

 

Pallbearers will be his Grandson’s: Shannon McBrayer, Dustin, Dalton, and Dylan Piske, Nick Benedict, and Patrick Florez.  Honorable Pallbearers: Justin Jennings; Justin Kellar.

 

Leldon (also known as Dad, Bud, Mac, & Papa) was a wonderful man who loved his church, his family, dominoes, and fishing. He will be forever loved and missed so terribly.
