Lawrence W. “Larry” Richmond, age 74 of Plano, IL passed away on September 1, 2021 at Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital, Downers Grove, IL. He was born on August 29, 1947 in Aurora, IL the son of Willard and Annette (Reding) Richmond.
Lawrence was united in marriage on June 6, 1985 to Kathleen Penninger and they spent the next 36 years happily together. Larry was a proud Veteran of the United States Army, having served in the war in Vietnam. He was formerly employed for many years, as a Truck Driver and Operations Manager at Aurora Express in Aurora, IL until his retirement. Mr. Richmond was a long time member of the Teamsters Local #673. He will be remembered as a talented musician and played the guitar in his own band as well as several other local bands. Larry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and uncle who will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Lawrence is survived by his wife, Kathleen Richmond of Plano, IL; his children, Kimberly (Jim) Wilson of Aurora, IL and Zachary Richmond of Aurora, IL; his grandchildren, Jack Olivier, Ella Richmond, Julianna Olivier, and Jenna Olivier; his sisters, Cindy (Don) White of Boulder Hill, IL, and Charlene (Geno) Pietrobon of Huchinson, MN; his sister-in-law, Wendy Richmond of DeKalb, IL; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Glenn Richmond; and his step-daughter, Rebecca Peppers Olivier.
Funeral Service will be private. Interment will take place at a later date in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Aurora, IL.
Friends may visit from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday, September 3, 2021 at the Nelson Funeral Home 1617 N. Bridge St., Yorkville, IL.
At the family’s request, masks must be worn while in attendance at the visitation.
