Lawrence Glew

Lawrence “Larry” Glew, 77, of Galion, passed away late Friday evening, April 30, 2021, at OSU Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio. He was born May 22, 1943, in Canton, Ohio, to the late Paul and Dorothy (Byrd) Glew.
A very outgoing, personable man, Larry made people feel important. He was loving and very close with his family, enjoying time spent together creating lasting memories. He was involved in the Boy Scouts as a child and as a leader as an adult. Larry had a deep love for riding horses and spending time with his horse, Sunstar. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and many other sports. He was a history buff and held a wealth of knowledge about the past. Larry also was a performer-appearing in several plays at the Renaissance Theater and Bucyrus Little Theater.
He leaves behind his beloved wife, Judy Winchell Glew; four children, Debbie (Ron) Lime, Jim (Mary) Glew, Denise (Vance) Sutton and Mike (Cindy) Glew; six grandchildren, Haley, Hannah, Hilary, Steven, Audrey and Jamesen Glew; two brothers, Rob Glew and Bruce Glew; stepfather, Joe (Julie) Petrusky; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Judy Blair; and brother, Tom Glew.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 8, 2021, from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road. Memorial contributions may be made to Galion Booster Club or the Special Olympics.
