Larry J. Kappeler

Larry J. Kappeler, 79, of New Philadelphia, passed away in Kansas City Hospice at Kansas City, Missouri on Saturday, December 18, 2021.
Born April 18, 1942 at Dover, he was the son of the late Elmer and Elvira (Basiletti) Kappeler. A graduate of New Philadelphia High School, Larry had retired from the former Dover Cryogenics at Dover.
Larry married his lifelong companion and friend, Carol Kappeler and together they celebrated over 50 years of marriage before her passing in February of 2014.
An avid car and motorcycle enthusiast, he also loved watching Ohio State Football and along with his wife, were longtime members of Sacred Heart Church at New Philadelphia.
Surviving are his sons, John Kappeler of Huntington Beach, California, Jerry (Julie) Kappeler of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Jamie (Jennifer) Kappeler of Kansas City, Kansas and a God-daughter, Rachel Peterson, Las Vegas, Nevada and his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jim and Connie Kinsey of New Philadelphia.
In addition to his parents and his wife, an infant brother is also deceased.
Visitation will be held in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory on Monday, December 27, 2021 from 4 to 6 p.m. Father Jeff Coning will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at 10:30 am in Sacred Heart Church at New Philadelphia. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery at New Philadelphia.
The family requests that memorial contributions, in Larry’s memory, be directed to Sacred Heart Church, 139 3rd NE, New Philadelphia, Ohio 44663.
