Kevin M. Blissett

Kevin M. Blissett, 61, of Springfield, passed away on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at his home after a valiant battle with lung cancer.  He was born July 15, 1959, in Springfield, to Donald L. and Hazel Irene Hackwith Blissett. He married Diane Wilde on September 12, 1991 and she survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Sammi Blissett of Milwaukee, WI; his mother, Hazel Blissett of Springfield; two sisters, Kris and Karen Blissett, both of Springfield; one brother, Gerald (Mary) Blissett of Waynesville, IL; three grandsons, Hunter, Colten and Chance; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father; one son, Christopher Blissett; one brother, Donald Blissett; and one sister, Vicky Lynn Blissett.

Kevin was a US Army Veteran.   He was a member of Hope Church.

He was a devoted father and an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, Minnesota Vikings and the Fighting Illini.  He also enjoyed the pastimes of golfing and fishing. Kevin worked as a supervisor for Cavo Communications for many years.

With his many laughs and smiles, Kevin touched the lives of his family, friends and many others.

Memorial Gathering: 4:00 – 7:00 pm, Monday, April 19, 2021 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.

Memorial Service: 10:30 am, Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield with Pastor Beth Yokley officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery where military honors will be conducted.

Memorial contributions may be made to Memorial Medical Center Foundation for patients needing cancer care.
