Kenneth W. Jacobs was born December 6, 1938, in Chicago to Walter and Mary (Shahbaz) Jacobs. He passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at Golden Years of Lake Geneva, WI.
Ken married Carolyn Sargis on November 17th, 1962, and has 3 kids and 4 grandchildren. Ken enjoyed music, played in a high school band, and sang in the church choir. He was a military veteran (Navy) and served many years in the Reserves after serving overseas. He was an engineering graduate from the Illinois Institute of Technology and a Civil Engineer at Stanley Consultants for over 40 years. Ken was a dedicated Chicago White Sox and Chicago Bears fan that attended Bears games from the time they played in Wrigley Field. He provided many years of support to the Assyrian United Alliance Foundation and as Harbor Master for the Indian Hills Association. Ken was someone who would always offer any help he could provide to any of his family and friends.
He is survived by his sons Mark (Kelley) Jacobs of Libertyville, IL, Tim (Arleen LaRosa) Jacobs of Lincolnwood, his daughter Dawn (Russ) DeMarco of Walworth, and four grandchildren – Sam, Sarah, Jake, and Luke.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn, and brother, Larry Jacobs.
There will be a memorial service at Carter Westminster Presbyterian Church, 4950 West Pratt Avenue, Skokie, IL on Saturday, January 13th, at 11 AM. A lunch/reception following this service will be held at the church.
A family burial will take place on Saturday, January 20th, 11 AM at Cobblestone Cemetery, 5261 Cobblestone Rd, Walworth, Wisconsin. A get-together following the burial service will be at Chuck’s Lakeshore Inn, 352 Lake St, Fontana, WI.
