Kenneth   Ray Massie

Kenneth Ray Massie, 90, passed away at his home in Granbury with his family by his side on Tuesday, January 24, 2023. He was born February 18,1932 in Whitewright, Texas to Floyd and Maude Burns Massie. He married Peggy Nell Hayley on July 19,1952 in Honey Grove, Texas.

 

Kenneth was a veteran of the United States Army serving as Battalion Motor Pool Maintenance Manager. He loved his Lord and served as Deacon for several Baptist churches throughout Texas. He was instrumental in the remodeling the Gospel Light Baptist Church in Mineral Wells. Kenneth was a member of Bible Baptist Church in Granbury. He was a master repairman, he could fix anything and owned his own appliance repair business. Kenneth enjoyed traveling, farming, and ranching and growing his own vegetables and providing his own meats for his family.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, seven siblings, a daughter, Sharon Knight and a great-granddaughter, Timper Jean Massie.

 

Kenneth is survived by his wife of (70) years, Peggy Nell Massie; daughter, Cathy Smith, and husband Gary; son, Ray Massie and wife Terri; eight grandchildren and (19) great-grandchildren.

 

Funeral services will be held at 10am. Friday, February 3, 2023 at Wiley Funeral Home Chapel in Granbury with visitation from 9 to 10am. Friday prior to services.

 

Graveside services will follow at 3pm. Friday at Seymour Masonic Cemetery in Seymour, Texas under the direction of Wiley Funeral Home of Granbury.

 

Serving as pallbearers will be his grandsons, Christopher Welch, John Jacob Knight, Matt Feldman, Daniel Massie, Zachary Massie, Owen Fee, and Andy Carnes.
