Kenneth Duane DeMoss, 76, passed away with his family by his side May 10, 2023. A visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of funeral service 11 a.m. Saturday, May 13, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Interment will follow in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.

Ken was born on March 11, 1947, in Davenport, Iowa, to Clifford and Mildred DeMoss. Ken graduated from Oxford Junction High School in 1966 and enlisted in the U.S. Army serving at Fort Rucker, Ala. He was honorably discharged as an E5. He worked for 47 years at Kapstone as a machinist, retiring in 2014.

Ken always kept busy. He was a scout leader, Sunday school teacher and Methodist Fellowship Organization leader. He had many hobbies. He enjoyed archery, playing cards and mushroom hunting. He was a skilled woodworker; he had a cabin on the Wapsi River that he remodeled into a beautiful retreat where he could hunt and fish.

Above all, Ken loved his family. They were his priority. He is survived by his wife, Martha; children, John (Amy Barkema) DeMoss and Lauri (Dan) Fairchild; step-children, Jerry (Joanna) Striegel and Tammy (Jeff) Schnieders; grandchildren, Mackenzie, Delaney and Aynslie DeMoss, and Alexander Fairchild; step-grandchildren, Ricky, Anna and Robert Fairchild, Jennifer Fagle, Shaun Striegel, Melissa Prins, Justin Schnieders, Matt Schnieders and Jeremy Schnieders; siblings, Craig DeMoss, Roger (Tracy) DeMoss, Cheryl (Rob) Coker, Michael (Holly) DeMoss and Kathy (Brian) Niebuhr; many nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law, Ruth Slaymaker, Dora Eden, Elma Hepner; and brothers-in-law, Hubert Peal and Louis Peal.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Rolland DeMoss, Terry DeMoss and David DeMoss; sisters-in-law, Pat DeMoss, Delight Hotz and Clara Miller; and brother-in-law, Connie Peal.
