Irving, Texas

Keith Edward Binger, 63, of Irving, Texas, formerly of Hiawatha, Iowa, passed to the loving care of God and Jesus on Monday, Jan. 9, 2023, at Parkland Hospital in Dallas, Texas. Keith was cremated and will be laid to rest next to his mother, Faye Binger. Graveside services will be held at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, in the Spring when the weather has warmed, and all things are renewed. Graveside service date and time will be posted on his obituary page at www.cedarmemorial.com. All friends of Keith are welcome.

Keith was born on Oct. 4, 1959, to Richard and Faye Binger, in Charles City, Iowa. His family moved to Hiawatha, Iowa and he graduated from Cedar Rapids Metro High School. During high school, Keith began working at Ar-Jay Building Products in their “Top Shop,” learning the foundational skills for crafting custom countertops. He always appreciated the opportunities provided by Dick Felter, Ar-Jay’s owner, Ralph Palmer and many others. When Keith moved to Irving, Texas, he began a career with Irving Countertops, owned by Marvin Randle, along with his sons. They gave Keith a true “home” to work for. He loved his job and was grateful for the faith and confidence Marvin showed him over the years. When he was unable to continue working, he missed the friendship of his co-workers. Keith resided at Meadowbrook Apartments in Irving, where his good friend Raymond took him to many appointments and looked after him.

Keith was the ultimate Iowa Hawkeyes sports fan, especially for Iowa football and basketball. It was everything Iowa “Hawkeye” and he proudly wore his Iowa jackets, t-shirts, pants and shoes!

Keith is survived by his sister, Patricia (Robert) Allard; stepmother, Barbara Brown; step-sister, Stephanie (Brian) Hamer; nieces and nephews, Chad (Amanda) Allard, Kelly (Kai) Stark, Chloe Hamer and Calvin Hamer; aunt, Barbara Binger; Binger and White cousins; many great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dick and Faye Binger; grandparents, George and Frances Binger and Mary Gray; aunt, Dixie and uncle, Johnny White.
