Kathy Haase, 78, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away Thursday, February 22, 2024, at Heritage Specialty Care, Cedar Rapids. Funeral Service 11 a.m. Monday, February 26, 2024, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, with visitation to begin one hour prior. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.

Kathy was born February 26, 1945, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Kenneth and Thelma (Hayes) Cahill. She was raised in Montana where she graduated from high school in Stevensville. On July 4, 1962, Kathy was united in marriage to Gary Haase in Bozeman, Montana and they returned to Cedar Rapids. She worked at City Wide Cleaners and Bishop’s. She loved to crochet, making blankets for every grandchild. Kathy was an exceptional baker that specialized in chocolate chip cookies and pumpkin bars. She enjoyed westerns and shopping with her mother. Kathy loved the time she spent with her grand and great-grandchildren. She will be missed dearly.

Survivors include her children, Tom Haase, Deanna (Randy) Richardson, William Haase, and Jimmy Haase; grandchildren, Megan, Melony, Zeke, David, Lucinda, Chrystal, Shoady, Joshua, Tabitha, Ariyonna, Ayden, Dominique, Damien, Daysha, and Dantae; nineteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild on the way; and siblings, Benny Mienke, Leonard Mienke, and Linda Hoyle.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gary Haase; brother, Kenneth Mienke; daughters-in-law, Tammy, and Tasha; and son-in-law, Randy.
